Timeless, timeless, short, trapeze, long… it comes in so many ways that there is bound to be one made for you!

But be careful, the danger with this skirt is to make it an all-purpose piece and end up with outfits that are a bit bland…

How to choose your denim skirt

Denim , 100% cotton of course. You can possibly choose a model containing up to 2% elastane for better comfort.

What is denim?

“ Denim ” is the contraction of “serge de Nîmes” . This fabric was originally a mixture of wool and silk with Cevennes origins.

Modern denim is a strong cotton fabric with a very tight weave, obtained from a blue warp yarn and an ecru or white weft. It is a twill with very characteristic diagonal lines.

For the record, the blue of the warp thread once came from a dye called e “blu di genova” (genoa blue) , this is what gave the name “blue jean” by deformation of the pronunciation.

Preferably avoid the skin-tight model.

Determine your goal before choosing the right fit.

If you want a denim skirt for your summer outfits, go for a rather short and straight or trapeze model. If you want a denim skirt  for a little dressier outfits, the pencil skirt will work best. If you’re going for a pencil skirt , opt for a model containing a little elastane for better comfort.

You can opt for a denim mini skirt , a classic denim skirt above the knee or a midi or even long  denim skirt .

I advise you to avoid the raw model that is a little too classic and to go for a more whimsical model.

Be careful, light colors and prints tend to thicken and are better suited if you want to import volume on your buttocks, hips, thighs.

If, on the contrary, you want to minimize these parts of your silhouette, go for dark and solid colors instead. Make your denim skirt a real highlight of your wardrobe.

Avoid half-measures with a skirt that would be too bland and go instead for a model with destroy effects or why not small studs, a braid on the side, a crochet yoke or other fantasies. Choose a 100% cotton denim skirt preferably (except pencil cut).
